Core Emergency Medicine Experience
The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA offers a two-week Emergency Medicine elective experience starting in May 2021. This experience will introduce and expose students to the field of Emergency Medicine.
Students will be introduced to a basic algorithm for resuscitation of acute patients, practice targeted history and physical exam on undifferentiated patients (including chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and altered mental status) as well as practice in performing basic emergency procedures such as suturing, abscess incision and drainage, and fracture management.
