Kelsey Kneisly, M.D.

 I love traveling, especially to places where I can go scuba diving, hiking, and other outdoorsy activities. I also enjoy napping on the beach, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with my family/friends' pets because I don't have one (yet).

Why did you choose UCLA for Residency?

First and foremost, the people! Everyone is so warm and friendly, and, especially given I'm moving out here from the east coast for the first time, it was important to me to know that I'd be joining a residency family. I also love the variety of experiences and different patient populations that we serve. There is a clear emphasis on training well-rounded EM physicians that are prepared for a career anywhere. Couple that with living in an amazing city with beautiful weather year-round, UCLA was an easy choice for me!

What is your favorite place to visit/thing(s) to do in/memory from living in LA? If you have never lived here before, what are you most excited about?

My favorite memory in LA was a day of hiking in Topanga State Park, then grabbing picnic food + wine at a local market and watching the sunset over the beach in Malibu

What are your areas of interest within EM or future career plans? 

I'm interested in medical education, global health, and admin

Finding small critters underwater
