Sophia Tiene, MD
Medical Education and Global Health
About
Sophia completed Medical School and Emergency Medicine residency at UCLA, where she served as Chief Resident. She is currently a fellow in Medical Education and Global Health, with interests in curriculum development, simulation, and evaluation. Her work focuses on developing sustainable educational programs and collaborative partnerships to strengthen emergency care training both locally and internationally with the goal of designing and evaluating educational interventions that improve emergency care delivery across diverse settings. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, staying active (gym, pilates, yoga, and the occasional beach volleyball), hanging with her dog, reading sci-fi and fantasy, and eating and drinking her way through LA with friends. Now that residency is behind her, she’s also in the market for a new hobby—suggestions welcome!
