Core Faculty
After graduating from residency at Emory University and fellowship in AEMUS at UC Irvine, Alan started as Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Olive View-UCLA and for the residency program in 2012. He was Director of the UCLA EM Ultrasound Fellowship from 2013 to 2021. He is currently Director of Ultrasound Education at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His main interests are in mentorship, medical education, and technology.
After graduating from residency at Mt. Sinai Hospitals in New York, George pursued dual fellowships in AEMUS and Anesthesiology-Critical Care at UCLA. He joined the UCLA faculty in 2018, and co-directs POCUS education for Anesthesiology and Surgical Critical Care. His main interests are in critical care ultrasound, mechanical circulatory support, and medical education.
After graduating from dual residency training in EM and IM at SUNY Downstate, Jackie completed fellowship in AEMUS at Harbor UCLA in 2019. She joined the Olive View-UCLA faculty in 2019 and serves as Director of the UCLA-affiliated Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship. In addition, she is co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for Olive View-UCLA. Her interests are in medical education, DEI, and regional anesthesia.
After graduating from residency at the University of Chicago, Will completed AEMUS fellowship at UCSF in 2015. He was faculty at UCSF for seven years, serving as Director and Fellowship Director of Emergency Ultrasound. He joined the UCLA faculty in 2022, where he currently serves as Director of Emergency Ultrasound for UCLA Reagan and Santa Monica hospitals. His interests are in medical education, mentorship, and POCUS research.
After graduating from residency at Arrowhead Medical Center and fellowship in AEMUS at UCLA, Dan started as Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Reagan UCLA Medical Center in 2013. He co-directed the fellowship program with Alan from 2013 to 2021. His main interests are in research methodology, advanced echocardiography, and neurology.

Daniela joined the Curricular Affairs team at DGSOM in 2022. She co-leads the DGSOM POCUS Curriculum with Alan Chiem, as Ultrasound Coordinator.
Shiromi has over fifteen years of administrative experience at Olive View-UCLA. She currently serves as the POCUS Elective Coordinator.
Nathalia joined the UCLA Emergency Medicine Department Administrative staff in 2020. She is the Coordinator of the UCLA AEMUS Fellowship program, as well as all other UCLA EM Fellowship programs.
